If you are unable to complete an English test, biometrics, or health examination within the specified time frame, your visa application may be refused. You can complete your health examinations before submitting your visa application using the My Health Declarations (MHD) service. However, if the visa you intend to apply for is not listed in the MHD service, or you have already lodged a visa application, you cannot use MHD. The Australian Government requires that you have continuous OSHC for the entire duration of your stay in Australia, cost of OSHC cover depends on type you choose. When purchasing OSHC, you’ll need to pay your policy premium upfront to cover the length of your student visa. If you hold a secondary student visa, you must be insured under the same policy as the primary student visa holder. You are only eligible to hold a single OSHC policy if you are the primary visa holder. If you decide to extend your study, you can renew your OSHC policy.

If you already have a student visa, your education provider will send your new CoE to the Department of Home Affairs. However, if your student visa application is still under review by the Department of Home Affairs, you should attach your new CoE to your student visa application via ImmiAccount as soon as possible.

If your new CoE is for a course at a lower AQF level, you may need to apply for a new student visa. The Australian Qualification Framework determines course levels.
